What is the RV CAV Program?

  • Teams comprised generally of retired people with some knowledge and skills related to home construction
  • Travel in their personal RV’s to volunteer for one-two week long builds
  • Work with affiliates of all sizes
  • Travel and stay expenses are paid by the individual members of each team
  • Work on projects ranging from framing, siding, porch/deck construction to window/door installation, cabinetry, drywall and painting.

Critical Home Repair

Description:

A Brush With Kindness

This program can help existing low-income homeowners who physically or financially can’t afford vital maintenance of their homes. This is a great opportunity to be a part of a program that benefits our entire community. Volunteer teams are matched with homeowners based on the size of the project.

A Brush with Kindness helps revitalize the appearance of the neighborhood, strengthens connections within the community and helps preserve affordable housing stock.

Get Housing Help

Description:

The Need

There Must Be A Demonstrated Need In Order To Qualify For A Habitat Home. Need is determined by a family’s current living conditions. Some examples of need are outline below (this list is not all-inclusive).

Inadequate sleeping arrangements

  • More than 2 persons share a room
  • Different gendered children sharing a room
  • Persons having to sleep on the floor

Unsanitary conditions or health risks

  • Bugs
  • Rodents
  • Sewage problems
  • Stairway in disrepair
  • Allergy concerns


Temporary or transitional housing

  • Family currently living with relatives


Current housing does not meet the physical need


Unable to obtain a conventional mortgage
