My role at Habitat includes…
Demonstrating my deep love for people and my passion for quality, safe, affordable, healthy housing; communicating the mission to our friends, neighbors and partners in Grand Rapids (and beyond!), leading a team of amazing folks dedicated to making our mission come to life and most importantly: celebrating our homebuyers who partner with us to achieve their hopes and dreams.
I’d love to hear from you if…
You want to know more about the strategic direction of our work of building homes, communities, and hope in Grand Rapids!
Habitat’s work is so important because…
The power of people who have secured stable, affordable housing is unstoppable—it makes a tremendous and tangible difference in their future trajectory. And, it is an absolute privilege to walk alongside a family as they pursue their dream of homeownership.
My favorite thing to do in Grand Rapids is…
Frequenting local coffee shops, exploring the great outdoors on skis, a mountain bike or paddle board and listening to podcasts/reading books to discover ever-inspiring words and passages.

Health & Wellness

Description:

Frequent moves and living in unsafe or unhealthy housing can have detrimental effects on children’s mental and physical health. In a Habitat home, cleaner airflow, lower stress levels, resources to invest in healthcare, and feeling safe and secure all contribute to healthy living.

Education

Description:

Housing instability can affect how children perform in school, and can even put whole classrooms behind. Students who move less often do better in school and their parents can pursue dreams of higher education.

Financial Stability

Description:

Lower-income families often spend a majority of their income on housing, leaving fewer resources to support health and education. An affordable mortgage lets homeowners pay down debt, accumulate savings, and build equity.

Neighborhood Focus

Description:

The neighborhoods where we live help determine our outcomes. Habitat homes contribute to stronger neighborhoods by increasing property values, stabilizing housing, and encouraging investment and civic engagement.
